Dance teacher Delphine (Catherine Deneuve) and her twin sister Solange (Françoise Dorléac), a composer, are planning to perform a choreographed song number - and hope to meet the men of their lives during the celebrations. Jacques Demy's cinema was never more joyful, colorful, jubilant and cheerful. LES DEMOISELLES DE ROCHEFORT is his tribute to American musicals, a song and dance of happy reunions between the characters as well as with the French and American actors: Catherine Deneuve and her sister Françoise Dorléac, who died in an accident a few months after the shoot, are joined by Gene Kelly, George Chakiris, Michel Piccoli, Jacques Perrin and Danielle Darrieux in a pastel-colored Rochefort. Vintage print: We are showing a rare first performance print that shows the changes in color. (Hans-Joachim Fetzer)
